Star Wars Identity

Yes, gone to Star Wars Identity I have. More pictures you may yet see. On Flickr you must go...   http://flic.kr/p/d7PcHC

Warning, this blog entry contains Spoilers for Star Wars Identity !!! Reader discretion is advised...
A pretty cool expo in which you are invited to create your own personalized Star Wars Character as you progress. I suggest you bring friends, trust me on this one ;) and a camera with museum worthy settings as most of the props are behind glass. I was especially happy to see some of the original props and sketches for the movies. Though they encourage visitors to take as many pictures as we want, the lighting in Mtl, especially for the drawings and sketches was terrible. Way to much glare from surrounding items and lights for a clean camera shoot. Reserving ahead of time is pretty much the only way to get in as they are booked days in advance. For those who have taken a psych class or two, you will be reminded of the 5 point personality test given to us to determine personality traits. A nice touch as it goes along into the creation of your future character. On average I would set aside 60 to 90 min for the tour and for 23 dollars it is totally worth it.  Going in I was probably most exited  for the creation of my very own Star Wars Character. Available online mere moments after you exit (thank you smart-phone) I must admit it does make for a nice souvenir. Always been a sucker for the custom souvenir and this one does not disappoint. Prob will be printing it out later on today as part of a two character montage showcasing mine and my girlfriend who was a real trooper on this excursion into the sci-fi universe.. lol. All in all a pretty cool way to visit Lucas' Universe and dare I say, find your own identity ;) Go see it !!
Cheers,

The Ongoing Rant; "Tuesday Morning Parking..."

35 min to find an alternative place to park the car this morning. Right side closed for weekly street clean up, left side filled with cars, then opened ... and nope cement trucks, opened... nope neighbor from across the street instructs me to leave the space telling me it s a driveway. Yaa budy.. the only car that could drive in there would be a mini micro beetle and even then it would be a tight squeeze. Dumb moron neighbor, it s the front door sidewalk! So I'm back to driving around if only to shut him up, I find an empty street with the left side to park... nope closed street altogether for the last few days. Here we go, open space, legal on Tuesdays anddd you need a permit for this street! Arrrgggg !! Okay another wide opened space aaannnndddd tree pruning signs anyone? No you know what enough is enough! 35 min that I have been driving around this forsaken area. So I 'm risking it until 10:30 when I can return to my original parking area.

10:32 I 'm back at my car and behind me the cities' red and screeching herald of parking tickets yet to come is driving by my car while I am turning her back on. Sirens and blinkers flashing, it slowly drives up the street screaming with it s horns for the owners numbering in about a dozen to move their cars or pay the fines. 10:40 finally back to it s original parking space, my car is safe... until the next Tuesday.

On the plus side, Street Clean-Up & Garbage day makes for great butterfly pictures by the leftover fruit scraps on the neighborhood lawn :)) See next blog entry.

Do or do not, there is no try. Lightsaber Project.

Every boy born post the Star Wars ORIGINAL Trilogie has but one dream. To blow up the Death Star and have a Lighsaber of their own. Okay that's two, but remember that without the force and his lightsaber Luke would of been killed at least 3 times over by his own father or eaten alive by a snow monster on Hoth. So no blowing up the Death Star, nor making rocks fly around on Dagobah... Geezes how I made it this far without a lightsaber at my side is quite astounding. Thought always more of a Han Solo fan myself, I do prefer a Lightsaber to a blaster; "an elegant weapon for a more civilised world". "Wink"

Well, it took me 3 decades to grow up and finally get around into building one... My very own custom Lightsaber. Built from a purchased core and body I obtained in a randomised purchase at Ultra Sabers.

 Original Core & Body

Later I was able to secure a few additional parts from various other dealers. Then took the time to manufactured custom components to fit my needs making it my very own... and voila !
