Adam s Ongoing Road Rant

As if to help me prove my point concerning road signs in this clear cut city. Oh and don t mind the laced sarcasm in here... I drove up to the Jewish Hospital last night for a pick up. figured I could use a cup of blood and maybe an arm of something on special at the donor bank. Well that and my roomates boyfriend had surgery earlier that day... So I decided not to heed my own warnings concerning signs and followed the big green H indicating the best roadway to get there. There are 3 hospital complex within ONE square kilometre and about hafl a dozen green H signs pointing at all of them at the same time $#%$#%%^#$%^#$%^ !!! Of course, comming in the distric I did t know that and it was raining and I had no clue which was which and so ended up at St Ju and not St Jew as I innitially intended. See any kinship in the ennonciation when discussing the matter over the phone here ? Anywho Dare I ask for directions at this point ? Course I did . Excuse me sir who works here, is there another Hospital in this area ? No there is not unless you want to go to Atwater. Okkkkaaaayyyy. So I m back in my car and I now remember there is a health centre, hospital on cote St Luc. Maybe I confused Cote des neiges and cote St Luc and Cote St Cath somehow. I know I know, St Cat ... Atwater. Could of been even more messy.. So I drive all the way down there, right passed the Jewish hospital lost in the dark and rain btw only to be told it was up next to the St Juuustine Children all this time from a night clerk down on St Luc.

Breath in ... breath out ... in.... out .... OK

So I drive back like a madman only to have Descaries Avenue shrink from a 3 lane to a two lane on me at the crossing of Queen Marry. Fight off traffic to get back on track and prob scarred the shhhii out of a puny grey honday accent and make it to St Jew. Course no big neon sign I have come to associate with hospital complex and manage to park pretty close all thing considered.

Again, what is the lesson here ? all together now " d o n t f o l l o w t h e s i g n s , d o n t g e t f o o l e d , a g a i n ,

First, if you are going to be swtichin' lanes right in front of me USE THE DAM FLASHERS you gratified Lada drivers

Second, if you are going heading to mirabelle for example out of Descarie, stay on the left, dont start left, then head right, then middle, back to the left, centre and left again #$%#@%@#%@#%^#$%^ !!! PICK one you short sighted morning drivers or get glasses. As I recall, "Lens Crafter" are having a 2 for one sale theise days.

Third, if you are going to be respecting the speed limit, at least pretend to use the right lane and not the left passing lane. There is a reason why driving ed nicknamed this lane THE PASSING LANE ! Non mais je reve !

Fourth, don t break when the light is green. I have yet to understand this dayly event on cote vertue and th ramp to Descarrie where people stop when the light turns green... Am I missing something here ? Perhaps a Montreal thing where drivers stop on green and turn without any lights on the car or at home for that matter. I CAN SEE YOU dammit, no point in hidding below the stirring wheel or on the backseat. Hell I could prob steal that Tim Horton coffee right out of your hands if I rolled down my window.

Finally, take my word on this, do NOT follow montreal road signs. Get a map, drops peebles on your way to get back home if you must, Heck ask. In all instances, I have ony seen such screwed sign directions in New Jersey when heading in or out of NY

Update on recently added entries. No make that past entries added to recents ones, wait .. heee , whaaa ?

I did it !!!! just added entries that used to be hosted on msn space / blog before I lost it and erased the whole thing. Well minus the back up copy I kept up my sleeve. héhéhéhé. So 2006 all the way to 2008 and the current minus the times were I actualy crawled out of my humble above to face the elements. So enjoy and remember to be kind, I do recall seeing a few tipoes and co here and there ... DOH !!!!

It could only be UPS. Indeed, after a few trials an error I do believe I have now an effecient route to work and back without the Henri Bourassa rush hour mess nor the scenic highway route that drops me off on St-Jacque. It only required that I stuff myself with poutine at Paulo and Suzzanne and shop for the second DVD Box set of SG Atlantis in the appropiraite compagny in order to secure the current route. A route mind you that bypass most of the traffic and drops me off swiftly on descarie, ni vue ni connue. The "executive bypass" I cresent thee !! gnagnagnagna
